Hello readers! We have excellent news for you today. To celebrate black history month, we will be holding a book reading and a bake sale at our premises.
The event will take place on the 15th October and will include readings by celebrated authors who have written some of our favourite books. There will be refreshments kindly donated by Gino’s Deli across the street and all our guests are invited to stay on after the readings for a Q&A session with the authors.
Following this event, guests can stay on to enjoy our after-hours open mic night. Participants can read their own poetry or prose, sing, dance or act. Comedy sketches are also allowed, as long as the content is PG13 rated. Please book your 15-minute slot with our project coordinator at the usual email.
In other news, we would like to thank Wanda Marlow for her generous donation to our library. We urge you to take a look at the new titles available on your next visit. They will certainly interest readers looking for literature on the intersection of race and sexuality, in both the fiction and non-fiction sections.
On a final note – to whoever left a black BYU hoodie at our last event, please get in touch so we can return it to you. Other lost and found items have also been hanging around our offices so if you seem to be missing something, please let us know and we’ll have a rummage for you.
